Mia’s approach is grounded in humanistic, person-centred values and a strong commitment to neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed care.

She uses Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and functional behaviour assessment to create practical, evidence-based strategies that are tailored to each individual’s needs.

Her work is highly collaborative, developed alongside families, multidisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure strategies are sustainable across all environments.

Her areas of special interest include complex trauma, adjustment disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, developmental disorders, schizophrenia, acquired and traumatic brain injuries (ABI/TBI), and intellectual and psychosocial disabilities.

What Mia loves most about being a Behaviour Support Practitioner is seeing the lasting impact of empowering individuals with coping strategies, emotional regulation tools, and functional life skills.

She finds deep purpose in helping people lead more independent and meaningful lives and is passionate about mentoring fellow practitioners and strengthening systems of support across the sector.

Mia has a Border Collie named Leo, who joins her on long walks by the Nepean River—often while she’s tuned into a psychology podcast. She enjoys being in nature, cooking hearty meals for her family, and believes in lifelong learning, staying authentic, and bringing humour and heart into everyday life.
