Career Journey
Kelsey is a Behaviour Support Practitioner with over five years of experience in the disability and mental health sector.
Her career began as a Mental Health Support Worker, where she developed a strong commitment to advocating for people with disability and fostering safe, empowering environments.
Since then, Kelsey has specialised in Positive Behaviour Support, working with individuals of all ages—including those with complex needs—to help build skills, enhance independence, and promote a meaningful quality of life.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Science, majoring in Criminology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology. Her practice is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and person-centred, with a particular emphasis on reducing and eventually eliminating restrictive practices.
Kelsey is dedicated to truly understanding each person’s story so that support strategies are not only effective but also respectful and empowering. What drives Kelsey in her work is seeing individuals grow in confidence, make choices aligned with their goals, and feel truly seen and heard in their environments.
Outside of her professional life, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her family and her Cavoodle, Lexi. Whether it’s beach walks or quiet moments at home, these experiences keep her grounded and reinforce her passion for the work she does.
